Italo House Tune #6 and A Deep Dark Pit

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve not long climbed out of a long illness – Boxing Day ’til the end of January. I’ve never been so ill for so long. It all started with a cold, but got progressively worse, to the point were I couldn’t even drink water. I lost interest in everything and found it very hard to get out of bed – real weird head-messing stuff.  I’m not one for going to the doctors, and would rather try to cure myself, but I succumbed, unfortunately. The doctor couldn’t explain the problem, but diagnosed Bronchitis. As Steve Cobby said – ‘Proper Bucking Broncho’ (try saying that when you’ve had a few).  It took until the end of February to feel 100%, so Christmas/New Year passed me by. I was also booked to DJ at this…

HSOB 2013

but I had to cancel, which was a bummer, as I was really looking forward to playing with a load of Brummie DJ pals and spinning a Breathless/Snobs set, with a few fresh platters thrown in. I started digging-in-the-crates early December, so that I was sort of prepared with a loose set of gems, and whilst diggin’ I unearthed this great moody Italo House track, which still hits the mark for me….

Random Selection #5

Whilst having an early spring-clean-out of my wardrobe, and having to move a couple of big storage boxes of Reggae vinyl, I thought that this would be a good opportunity to get the Random Selections back on track. Well, here’s what I pulled out. A Joe Gibbs production…

After The Event

I wanted to post about this event before it actually happened, but hey, life has been a little hectic of late…. Anyway, if you weren’t there you missed a great night. I had an enjoyable time behind the ones and twos, and a tune I played and haven’t stopped whistling since….

Everyone keeps telling me the World is going to end tomorrow. Well, if it is, then it was nice knowing you all. Life has been good and I don’t have any complaints….

Deaf School

What A Way To End It All by Deaf School (from the album 2nd Honeymoon) (Warner Brothers Records 1976)

I was crazy for this band back in the late 70s. I saw them a number of times at Barbarella’s. Great times!

Stairway To Heaven

Wow, how time fly’s. Started this job in March, and was only down to renovate the staircase, but the customer decided to renovate the whole of the hallway/stairwell. We supplied and fitted a new sky-light, and replaced all the skirting and architrave. We priced for the re-plastering of the walls, but didn’t get that job,  so there was a big gap between us starting and completing, but I think it turned out well in the end….

Check the General Carpentry page for more before and after photos.

The tune coming out of the radio as we were finishing up….Choon!
