  2. Good luck with the digitizing Dickie Bwoy … looking nice sir

  3. Dick the chippy, Mark Partridge the builder, what next Barney the plumber? Good to see the B’ham acid house pioneers still making good.

May your house building be as memorable as your house music!

    P-)

Hi Mark, we could start a super team of craftsmen…..mmm, maybe not, we wouldn’t get anything done! Good to hear from you – it’s been a while?

  4. Hi Dick,
It’s Adam here. Doubt you remember me but I used to say hello when you was djing and club running. You used to let me in for free sometimes as well! ANyway, I heard a rumour you lived in Sardinia, obviously not true, and I bumped into an old pal in the shops this morning who said that you and Nathan were doing a Breathless revival night. So I went on the internet to have a look and I found this page! Just thought I’d drop you a line to say hello. I’ve been tiling now for the last 9 years and I have a website (www.tilingbirmingham.co.uk) so if you ever need a tiler, let me know. Also, be good to hear if you’ve any plans to get out on those decks anytime soon,
All the best and Up the Villa
    Adam
PS Hearing a strong rumour that Moyes is going to be our next manager – KTF!

      Hey Adam,
Of course I remember you – how can I forget a fellow Villa fan!?
I’ll email you over the next few days and we’ll have a chat.

      Regards,

      Richard.

  5. Hi Rich – Tracy cut my hair today and we were having a good gossip about your blog so I thought I’d have a look. Very good!! Is that Mikey from Bentleys down one of your holes ?????
    Julia x

    • Richard Whittingham

      Hey Julia,
      Hope all is well.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, that is Mike workin up a sweat. How do you know him?

      Give my regards to Paul.

  6. I used to work for their management, Chapter 22 in the bentleys glory days – loved it. xx

  7. Well I never, DJ Dick, the DJ Dick!!!! I used to hang around with a few lads back in the 90’s Nick, Ada and Paul we spent our time bouncing (literally) between the Hacienda, Soho Theatre Club, Flying Records, Venus and Snobs. Friday shopping for clothes at Autograph or Zoot owned by Carl and Dave and then clubbing all weekend, Push, Push was an anthem of the time, well done fella…

  8. Happy New Year Dick,
    Have you heard this?

    Dave Mac

    • Richard Whittingham

      Hey David,
A Happy New Year to you too!

I hadn’t heard it before. I’d like to listen to it more closely.
I like Joy feat. Big Youth. I’m a big fan of the album Screaming Target by Big Youth.

      How’s fatherhood Mr Mac.?

2012 was a dry year for me musically. Hoping 2013 is an improvement!

Love and kisses to you and the family.

  9. Sorry Dick, your latest post led me here, sorry for the tardiness in replying.
Fatherhood is great, Ivy is into everything and everyday brings something new.
Dom (Blood and Fire) has put that album out on his King Spinna label, recorded in Stockport!
One other thing, listened to your Free School podcast, which was very entertaining and a great listen.
Just to let you know, I gave Adam the RJD2 album for Christmas 2002.

    • Richard Whittingham

      Hi Dave,
Glad to hear all’s well with you and yours.

I haven’t listened to the Free School podcast yet – not sure I can!

      Hope to see you soon.
      Best Wishes.

  10. You out and about playing on the 1’s and 2’s anytime soon?

    • Richard Whittingham

There’s nothing in the pipeline, but things pop up out of the blue nowadays – watch this space.

Thanks for asking and sorry for the long delay in replying.
